Motorola Defy - 3G Mobile Hotspot Problem

My 3G Mobile Hotspot app used to work fine, now whenever I try to launch it I get an error message saying "can not set up data link, please contact service provider".  Can anyone please help fix this?  :smileyhappy:

Re: Motorola Defy - 3G Mobile Hotspot Problem

Hello Kerry,

Your best bet would be to contact our Mobile Technical Support Team on 125 111 anytime and say 'technical support' on the IVR.

Alternatively, check Motorola FAQ site for any other information.

With kind regards,

Re: Motorola Defy - 3G Mobile Hotspot Problem

Dude, i found the solution. i own the same handset and faced the same problem. Now here's the solution:

u gotta create to apn's, like i have a bsnl connection. so my apn settings are:

1) name: bsnlnet
   apn: bsnlnet

   proxy: <Not set>

   port: <Not set>

   server: <Not set>

   mcc: 404
   mnc: 57

   auhentication type: <Not set>
   apn type: default

2) name: bsnlnet
   apn: bsnlnet

   proxy: <Not set>

   port: <Not set>

   server: <Not set>

   mcc: 404
   mnc: 57

   auhentication type: <Not set>
   apn type: dun

apn names dont matter. wat really matters is apn type. that's the only difference between two apn's. so for 3g-mobile hotspot and internet tethering 2nd apn with apn type dun is required. u must be having apn settings from ur service provider. it worked for me, i hope it works for u as well
