what is lost in root

Can a Telstra employee explain to me what value Telstra are adding to the galaxy nexus ROM. If its just HD voice i can live with out that, but the random reboots and app selection i can't.

I doubt Telstra is adding anything to the ROM. The manufacturer would be the one to do so if there was anything. Telstra tests. That is all. I'm not sure if the Nexus gets the Telstra One app but if it does, the manufacturer adds it for Telstra, I'm pretty sure.

It could be a number of things. HD Voice, TelstraOne, Slight changes for UI and Customisation. I really don't think it matters to be honest, with the exception that if its not working they should find the bug and fix it :smileyhappy:

As has been mentioned before, Telstra will only ask that the one app "TelstraOne" be added to updates. The Manufacturer will add those updates and pass the phone to Telstra for testing :smileyhappy:

Re: what is lost in root

This is a nexus phone, if I'm waiting on bloat, I'll root.

I'm not sure what it could be, however rooting the phone will void your warranty, as your not running Telstra approved software on the device.

Thanks for advice. Seems the difference is in the radio, and then only to enable hd voice and to favour 850 band
I void warranties :smileyhappy:

Thats cool :smileyhappy: I don't mind either way, I can just say I told you so if you for whatever reason don't know what your doing while rooting the phone :smileytongue:
