nano SIM activation

I'm having trouble getting through on the 1300 131 113 number to activate my nano SIM (I'm upgrading from an expired iPhone 4 contract). Can I get the SIM activated in a Telstra shop?

The number is probably overloaded with people complaining about not getting their pre ordered iphone

If you have the time and the lines are not to long you can also activate your service in your local store.

It sure is overloaded, which is understandable I guess.

Thanks Yannick, can I activate my service in a local store if I'm porting a number from another provider? Or is it for new services only.
