Hey Craig,
Thanks for the update, sad news for the NExus adn SGS3, but yeah...
Cheers for updating the "Expected approval date", makes things a bit clearer now with a distinction between the submission and approval.
Keep it up

C'mon samsung. you have released the firmware for the unlocked s iii, how much harder is it to install a few things for telstra and give it to them to test?

1.5 hours to download (over home network/wireless) and 30 - 40 minutes to actually install.
No problems so far. No rebooting.
Ran Antutu benchmark before and after:
G'bread -> ICS
cpu 2375 -> 2476 (4.3%)
ram 710 -> 1080 (52.1%)
gpu 1517 -> 1528 (0.7%)
i/o 482 -> 556 (15.4%)
total 5084 -> 5640 (10.9%)

Really disappointed about the Galaxy Nexus delay, I just don't understand why? (or why it's been delayed longer then the S3) it's not like Samsung need to add TouchWiz to it or modify it that much...it's the same device as the one directly supported by Google and that image has been out for months now. Not to mention it's been rumoured Android 4.2 "Key Lime Pie" is expected to touch down as soon as next month (with a new Nexus phone)...very poor show for a Nexus device and I can see why Google have ditched Samsung for LG.
I know it's not Telstra's fault, not much they can do if Samsung can't get their act together and push out the firmware. I hope Google learnt from this and the new Nexus is Google supported only to avoid this fragmentation issue within the same model range..
EDIT: Nevermind the Android 4.2 thing, apparently that was hoax and completely false. Opps, my bad.

You can see why some people just buy a unlocked phone without all the Telstra Bloatware. I have !
If ever the JB update ever arrives wake me up. I have ditched the S24G for now, other phones out there which match it now. You really dropped the ball on this one Telstra and Samsung.
