I recently purchased a Telstra 9850 Triple Dect Cordless phone set - (about 3 months ago) Today, the backlight won't go off. It will brighten when in use, then when it is supposed to go off, it just dims to about half strength, but stays on and doesn't go off at all. How do I fix this ? I've tried taking the batteries out in the hope it might re-set something, but that didn't work.
Thanks
Cheers
Robyn

Both ... the light just stays on all the time, including when it's in the cradle, and looking up into the top right hand corner of the screen where you can see the light, it occasionally blinks and flashes (not all the time, just once every minute or so), and the battery charging bar appears to be charging all the time too. I just noticed that. The handset is in the cradle all the time, so it shouldn't be needing to charge. The other handsets don't do that.
Thanks

I've got a couple of different cordless phones and they all have the screen dimly lit continuously, not aware of any where the screen actually goes off altogether, is your model meant to go off?

The other 2 handsets (including the base) stop charging when fully charged, (well, the charging icon stops anyway and it shows a constant fully charged icon) and the backlight goes off entirely. I can still see what's on the screen, but the backlight is off. It only lights up when the phone rings, or is in use some other way. Then it's only on for a short period of time anyway.

Thanks. I thought of gathered as much. Puchased in Melbourne. I'm in Queensland. Not really an option.
But thanks anyway.

Good point. Thanks. I'll try that.
Cheers.
