Telstra Slim Touch 9650

Cordless home phone - Unable to answer calls or make calls, can't change setting - this error message 'not available at this time' or 'Unable to call try again'.  If I try and change the setting 'not available at this time' comes up.  Can't us the phone but the answering system still works.  Can anyone suggest any ideas that might fix this problem or should the phone go into the bin.

Alternatively, if it's not possible to fix it after consulting the support pages or support team, you may want to consider buying or renting a home phone through Telstra.
