Hi,
my Elite Mobile Broadband Next G doesn't install properly. It stops at some point, saying "an error occured while applying security settings. Users is not a valid user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem connecting to a domain controller on the network. Check your network connection and click "retry", or "cancel" to end the install".
I tried changing a few connexion settings, change my computer's language to English. Computer is a HP Mini, with Windows 7, French default language.
Can anyone help me please ?
Cheers .

If you can get your PC to a wi if zone, or take a usb drive to someone place that has Internet and go to
http://zte.com.au/telstra/Product_Downloads/MF626_
Download the Windows 7 driver tool , and the PC onnection manager.
Do not plug in the Elite mobile broadband Device until the very end.
Install the connection manager, once this completes, unzip the windows 7 driver tool, and run this software. Once complete, reboot your system. Once it's rebooted itself, and your ready to connect
Now you can plug in your Elite Mobile Broadband device.
It may take up to 5 minutes, to receive the Green signals to connect, but once it does. Click connect, If you have issues with no data, open settings, and set the default APN to Telstra.internet
This Version of software usually works when the install stops halfway.
Best of luck with that ![]()
Lastly, It's very important to ignore all install attempts from the Device itself, once the above is installed, otherwise it could accidently overwrite the installed version, only to find itself half way installed again, so just close the install pop up window and just go to the connection manager, and it all will continue to work

Hello, I've got a very similar problem with my Telstra USB 4G device (Sierra Wireless).
I'm using a PC with Windows 7 installed, purchased in France, and I get the same error message when I try to install the mobile broadband device. "an error occured when applying security settings. Users is not a valid user or group".
Then, I tried as you indicate to download the universal connection manager (I found it here: http://www.telstra.com.au/business-enterprise/help
But when I run the tucmw32 file, I get another error message: "You must run up setup.exe to install mobile broadband manager". and then the setup wizard runs automatically and I get this message : ""The Mobile Broadband Manager Setup Wizard ended prematurely".
so I sort of come back to the starting point.
Could you help please?
Thank you,
Marie
