How update firmware for 2wire 2701hgv-w

I have a 2wire 2701hgv-w with firmware 5.29.113.13 at home.

We've experienced frequent dropouts for years. However a friend recently infomed me that updated firmware may help.

How would I go about getting the updated firmware please?

I don't believe there is any.  I haven't been able to find any reference to updated firmware.  It is an obsolete product that isn't being supported any more (2wire was bought out by Pace a few years ago).

Thanks for the info. It figures, given I've had this modem for years.

I'm guessing that if I want a new modem from Telstra, I'd have to sign up for another fixed term. I've been out of contract for quite awhile and would rather not though. Can any Telstra reps confirm?

Hi KAR,

The v5.29.113.13 firmware that you have is an old production firmware for the 2Wire 2701 HGV-W. The new updated firmware is v5.29.135.12.
