Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Regarding the "Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3" alone:

(I don't know anything about any "4G Modem"; tell me if I should start my own thread.)

Impossible, as far as I can tell, to find 'support' for this particular "version".

No 'User Manual', or similar, available anywhere; no updates for drivers/firmware, as yet, either.

My only beef with this piece of equipment is the FAT32 formatting supported on USB HDD. I kinda thought FAT32 went out with the dinosaurs....

If, as seems to be suggested, support for NTFS formatted USB HDD might become available, then I would be most happy.

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Hi Gareth

I've just been caught out with the TG587 not supporting the new 4G LTE device as well.  I update my internet contract with Telstra a few weeks back and got the new 4G LTE device.  I previously had my old 3G device setup with a wireless router and I wanted to keep everything the same.  Since the 4G LTE device is so new and no other routers on the market support it, I went into a telstra shop today to find out if there is a Telstra router that is compatible with the new 4G LTE device and the gentlemen sold me the TG587 and assured me that I wouldn't have any problems.  Anyway I'm just going to use my old 3G device in the TG587 until the new firmware is pushed out now......hopefully that is sooner rather than later......I'll be watching this thread with interest for you're update

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Hi,

Just wondering how to edit the primary and secondary dns in the router, and if the option is locked, would it be ever unlocked?

Cheers.

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

this modem only does 130MB/s max - that is pretty aweful for wireless N, And devices are only connecting at 65-75MB/s - and that is a range of different wireless N devices - not just one adapter. Plus the unit reports actual speed of 54-65MB/s.

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

HI  MartinMc

is there any update on this ?

i am in need of a router to work with the 4G card ASAP, as was plesently supprised to find posts on various places saying this device would work ,

But seems that was all WRONG,.

Even at the Telstra shop today, we tried, and nope could not get it to work with the 4G device.

an update on when the new Firmware will be released would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Bumped for attention. Not so much worried about the 4G, but I'd really like NTFS support.

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Apologies, first day back after taking some time off.

The firmware update didn't make the cut-off before the network change embargo that commenced before xmas (they restrict the changes being deployed over xmas/new year due to holiday season). The engineering team has the new firmware code, just waiting for the lifting of the embargo which is due to occur in the middle of this month so it can be scheduled for deployment. Frustrating that it didn't make it through before xmas I know but we will continue to chase it for you so that the new modems can get updated.

I welcome the introduction of NTFS support coming in the next firmware update. Any chance that Mac OS Extended might be added so Mac users can use time machine to backup?

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Can some one please tell me how to get the user guide and configuration manual. Because before we bought the router we were successfully running a printer through the network hub and now it we have to plug it into a central computer. How do I get it to work again?

Re: New 4G Modem & Bigpond Technicolor TG587n v3

Hi Everyone,

Any person trying to get there hands on the Technicolor TG587n V3 manual or user guild, bad luck I'm sorry to say, this company Technicolor will not supply any kind of manuals for the end user. I have twice Email this company asking them for a manual, Technicolor did not answer my Emails at all. Great Customer Service.

I have a Technicolor TG587n V3 with Bigpond,  I wish to know the in's and out's of this device and settings, we the end user  want this user manual. We all should be able to have this manual.

What do you think
