Afl live

Answered

I am away from home and thought that Afl live would be a good solution to watch the football. Wrong. Disgusted that apparently afl has a 7” restriction on tablets and the picture shrinks to virtually unwatchable, with statistics and interchange timings around the perimeter of the picture. We here Bruce McAveney prattling on with all those stats enough without having to watch them as well. How about Telstra reduce the picture to 6.5” wide with a black border so that the picture is watchable with my failing eyesight. I pay for the service and I therefore expect a reasonable value for money.

Re: Afl live

Hello @Catsman1,

Apologies for the frustrations experienced using the AFL App.

As Jupiter has noted, this restriction is a condition of the Digital Broadcast Agreement between the AFL and Telstra, and is agreed

to in the terms accepted to access an AFL Live Pass.

If you would like further details please check out the AFL Live Pass FAQ's, or feel free to send us another message.

Re: Afl live

It is a 7" diagonal restriction (TV picture sizes are measured on the diagonal), so it is limited to a roughly 3.45"x6.1" picture.

You pay for what the service delivers (as like any good consumer, you would have read the Terms and Conditions before handing over your money), and until the next AFL Broadcasting Licencing agreement is in place (after 2022), you are stuck with what the current licencing agreement delivers.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
