How to Activate Your Pre-Paid Sim

Follow these steps to insert your SIM and activate your account so you can start using Telstra pre-paid mobile.


Before you begin, make sure you have the following details on hand:


1. Your mobile phone
2. Another device such as PC or Laptop
3. A form of valid identification



Head to and select 'Activate online now'. Follow the prompts to enter the required details to activate your service.


If you’re not sure what forms of ID are accepted by Telstra just check out the Accepted Forms of Identification.


Once you have completed these steps, your service will be active within 4 hours (or 24 hours on a weekend).
