Business Customers:

Beauty, brains, stamina + amazing connectivity

Could the chic Galaxy S5 be one of the best iPhone alternatives for 2014?

There’s a good chance it will be, because this highly anticipated new release bristles with cool things to fall in love with - practical, clever things that actually improve your life, enhance your wellbeing and make you feel safer. Some examples are a security fingerprint scanner and built-in fitness functions, including the world’s first smartphone heart-rate monitor.

Like its hugely popular predecessor, the S5 takes excellent photos and video. It a has a very good 16MP camera with super-fast auto focus, panorama, square and slow motion video, plus a raft of other high-end features typically found in a DLSR.

Luckily, given its usefulness, this beauty is built to go anywhere: beach, gym, skiing, cycling country roads, hiking dusty trails or dripping rainforest. It’s waterproof and dust resistant, with mega battery life and connectivity on Telstra 4G.

A true lifestyle device

The Galaxy s5 plays several roles, making it much more than just a phone. It’s also a security device, fitness companion, heaven-sent kids’ entertainer, digital wallet, and ace photographer.

A healthy choice

This could be a good time to say goodbye to your personal trainer. You won’t need one when you’ve got a S5 Galaxy. Its S Health keeps tabs on key measurements such as your calories, weight, walking distance, speed, work-out duration and more. While the heart-rate monitor takes your heart rate directly on your phone and tracks it over time.

It even has a workout buddy: Samsung’s Gear Fit – a water-resistant fitness band that helps monitor and track your fitness. This nifty connectible, wearable device also tells you when you’ve got text messages and voicemail on your S5 phone – great for when you’re doing a sport or class but need to keep an eye out for urgent incomings from valued clients and special friends.

Safety first

A really exciting development, the fingerprint scanner means only you can access your S5 and view its contents – including those top-secret fitness stats. It’s fun and fast:  just swipe your finger down the home button to unlock the  phone.

The fingerprint scanner is also used for secure mobile payments via the PayPal app. No pin or security code to punch in, which is great when you’ve got your hands full or are in a hurry.

You can also make tap and go payments with selected banks. This means you can leave your wallet at home when you want to travel light or are up for a big night out.

Another clever safety feature is the S5’s Ultra Power Saving Mode which can make a mere 10% of battery life last for almost 24 hours. An absolute life saver when you’re off on an adventure or caught up in an emergency.

See it all

With its big, bright 5.1” full HD Super AMOLED display and superior camera, the Galaxy S5 is a dream come true for photo addicts and screen lovers as it gives you an amazing viewing experience. Visual quality is top-notch, with excellent contrast and brightness levels.

High-end camera

The S5’s 16MP camera lets you capture perfectly focused images of moving objects, focus on an object while blurring the background, and adjust focus after you’ve taken a shot. You can then preview in real time to achieve images that really pop out - even when you’re shooting against sunlight.

There’s a load of other great modes and functions – too many to mention here - but suffice to say this is probably the only camera you need.

Keep the kids amused

The S5’s Kid’s Mode keeps small family members and friends entertained while you grab a coffee, do the shopping, dash off urgent emails, shower, or have a disco nap – any activity that needs to be done child-free.

Kid’s Mode is a fun place where kids can play with approved apps, while keeping the rest of the phone’s content safely out of reach of inquisitive little fingers.

I thought this was going to be released on April 11th, not 1st?

Also, will this be avaialble for outright purchase?

I have organised for the date to be updated, apologies that was a typo. Yes, outright purchase will be available in store, depending on availability, and I believe the price will be $912.

The S(mall) plan pricing for S5 doesn't make any sense. It's $36 per month premium over same BYO plan ($81 - $45), which means the customer pays $36*24=$864 for the phone + gets locked in for 24 months instead of 12. There are already stores selling S5 outright for less than $864, so there is absolutely no incentive to buy it on S plan at Telstra.

Telstra needs to subsidise these handset at levels it used to do in the past, otherwise it'll lose customers!

I pre-ordered my galaxy 5 early last week with a view to it being delievered within the 2-5 business days as it said. Any idea how we go about chasing these up? It is supposed to be delievered to my work address this week, as I am on leave for the next 2 weeks. I don't know where to go to chase it up. I have had no correspondance to say it has been shipped or anything. Someone please help! This is my first experience pre-ordering... not too happy with it.

Nevermind, I managed to find a number and they hadn't even begun to process my order. Really disappointed. I have now been told to go to a telstra shop to get one. Which is what the website told me not to do. Not happy. Will be passing this feedback onto friends and family.
