3G Network

I’ve been on a Telstra plan for a while now, and I can connect to both 3G and 4G networks on my home internet. But when I’m using mobile data, I cannot send messages, and cannot make calls. I don’t know if this is a common problem but is an inconvenience as I regularly have to find alternative methods of sending messages or making phone calls. If anyone has any solutions, I would be greatly appreciative.

Can you pleasr clarify if you are using the data on a different device or the same device? Could you do both previously? Or is this a new scenario?
