Possible Scam Telstra Bill

Hi

 

I received an email today notifying ne of a new bill. When I tried to click on the link to view the new bill, telstra.com/view/Hps8gOeUksfAFiV26i0ytA737x/  it actually went to run a java app, 

 

The same happens with the Pay Online link and the Contact links.

 

My AV blocked this and notified me it was a Trojan because of the behavior.

 

Can any one advise if this is correct as previous notifications have not acted in this manner.

This is a fake email under a Telstra banner which has been reported by a few customers in the past couple of days - it's currently under investigation after examples have been sent through to us. As a general rule we'd never ask our customers to provide account details or private information by following an embedded link, but would instead direct to our teams on 13 22 00 or the online chat service at http://tel.st/j782c

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.

Setup direct debit
