In the last couple of months I have both upgraded my handset on a Telstra plan and i am currently attempting to review an un-used service on my bill and for both cases I have attempted to start the process at my local Telstra shop. When attempting to upgrade my handset I was told by the guy that " we don't do that in Store and its far easier to do online" What a waste of my time standing in line to even be served only to be told to go home. I tried ordering a new handset online (unsuccessfully) and then received a bunch of emails and txts to do just that. And then visited the store again "No problem!" On my previous plan over 2 years ago I bundled a tablet that I no longer use and wanted to review the excess data plan for said tablet only to be told by the girl at the shop "oh we can't do that in Store you'll have to go online. Now I'm struggling to find where I can do that online. Can Telstra please clear up what I can and can't do in Store or is it just lazy staff in mittagong that don't understand the meaning of customer service
Hi Emily. Thanks for coming through; really sorry to hear of your experience in this. When you say you were unsuccessful, did you receive a specific error message? You can recontract for a new handset here - https://tel.st/uzwp4 - just type in your current number and it'll let you know of any associated charges.
You can find options for tablet plans here - https://tel.st/2js7t - if you want to upgrade to a new tablet, or here - https://tel.st/a5czw - to get a better deal on data for the tablet you currently own.
Please take a look and let us know if there's anything we can clarify. - Matthew.
