apology for phone call

it all started with a stupid text from Telstra

"hi you recent payment has failed. please pay the full amount at Telstra.com/myaccount or reply 1 blah blah"

how did it happen...

one bill (April's bill was double payed)

one of those payments was reversed

The may bill isnt due till 11 june...

the ability to understand each other's position just wasnt happening during the phone call...

I apologise to that person sincerly

Re: apology for phone call

Double sealing the deck of your boat is a great idea (payed is having sealing the deck or hull of a boat).
Paid is the non-nautical term.

Communications issues in the 21st Century; whether by oral means or typing, meanings can be misconstrued.

That was fun. Gave me something to think about other than the usual Friday stuff.

btw, how are you going? Nice to see you hanging around here again. You went quiet for a while.

Re: apology for phone call

Bugger, you're having a run of bad luck.
I've got my machines back up on 2 NAS arrays because I've been bitten before.

Thinking about building a new PC, been living off laptops for the past few years, but getting to the stage that I want to get back in to programming and I prefer a desktop for that type of work.

Been away from the alternative operating scene for a while, but I should probably start catching back up with developments.

just as a matter of interest how long???

I ask because

Most mainstream Linux use only systemd (a bit more than just an init) aka debian, arch, manjaro, ubuntu

gentoo still has a choice

mx linux has become popular

Devuan and Artix Linux are trying both to be Systemd free, Artix is an Arch line, Devuan is Debian line. both are looking for more coders/ pkg builders / bug hunters

they use OpenRC, S6 and Runit

Linux + Steam have been making inroads to gaming using proton, vulkan and dvxk?
