How to Change the WiFi Channel on the Telstra Gateway Max TG799/TG800 ADSL/NBN Modem

 Enter the following IP address, 10.0.0.138, into the address bar of your browser (or just click on this on the link if your device is connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet to the modem in question)

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi symbol at the top of the page, so that it is highlighted with a blue square.
  2. This will show you to the Wi-Fi administration page.
  3. Find the field titled Wi-Fi Channel Selection.
  4. Normally the drop down box will show 'Automatic'.
  5. Click on the down arrow at the end of the drop down box and select a new channel. 
  6. Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the screen. 
  7. Our preferred channels to try are channels 1, 5, 6, and 11. However, with trial and error, you may find an alternate channel that works best for you.

How to Enter Your Username and Password into the Telstra Gateway Max TG799 ADSL Modem.

 

Please note you don't need to do this if your modem is connected to an NBN service.  For further troubleshooting with an NBN service click here.

 

Enter the following IP address, 10.0.0.138, into the address bar of your browser (or just click on this on the link if your device is connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet to the modem in question)

  1. Click on the Broadband symbol at the top of the page, so that it is highlighted with a blue square.
  2. This will show you to the Connection Settings page
  3. Under the title PPPoE, find the Username field, enter your BigPond Username,
  4. In the Password and Confirm Password field under that enter your password for your BigPond user name. 
  5. Click on the Apply button in the lower right hand side of the screen. 
  6. You should be connected shortly.
