How to Independently Measure your Bigpond Usage

There are several tools that can be used to Measure your Bigpond Usage. Note, these apps aren't approved by Bigpond/Telstra:


  • NetMeter:  this tool includes an almost transparent click-through graph in the corner of the screen that shows any traffic currently coursing through the user’s connection
  • DUmeter:  Enables users to can separately monitor the data that is uploaded/downloaded through individual ports on the computer (eg. wireless or LAN port or VPN)
  • Netstat LiveNetStat Live is a small, easy to use monitor which can be used to see your exact throughput on both incoming and outgoing data.
  • Networxis a simple and free, yet powerful tool that helps you objectively evaluate your bandwidth situation. You can use it to collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection.
  • BitMeter OSBitMeter OS is a free, open-source, bandwidth monitor that works on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. BitMeter OS keeps track of how much you use your internet/network connection. BitMeter OS also lets you define Alerts to notify you when your internet usage exceeds some limit that you specify
