How to install your Telstra Smart Modem™ for nbn™ FTTC and nbn™ HFC

This video will show you how to set up your Telstra Smart Modem on an NBN Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) or an NBN Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) internet connection.

In the box, locate the cord with the red plug already connected to the Telstra Smart Modem and the yellow plug on the other end. Insert the yellow end into the yellow port on your NBN connection device for NBN FTTC or NBN connection box for NBN HFC customers, and ensure the device or box is switched on.

To power the modem, take the power cord which will already be connected to the modem and plug it into the power socket, making sure the power is switched on.

The Telstra Smart Modem will now turn on - please wait for the power button to turn solid green.

Because the Telstra Smart Modem is a hybrid modem combining both Telstra's fixed and mobile networks, you'll be able to connect to the internet sooner using the mobile network even before your NBN fixed broadband is activated.

If you're online light is magenta, this means that you are connected to your mobile backup pathway - the Telstra mobile network.

If you're online light is green this means that you are connected to your fixed broadband connection.

In the event that your fixed connection is unavailable, your modem will automatically switch to the mobile backup pathway and back to the fixed connection when the service is available again.

And that's it! That's how to set up your Telstra Smart Modem on an NBN FTTC or an NBN HFC connection.
