We are getting NBN this month (June 2019), FTTC, so should be pretty good.
I am looking at plans, (small business from home), and even though we have been with Telstra for ever, I must say that their NBN plans are nowhere near as good as for instance TPG. I am not really interested in all the extras such as TV options, streaming, etc.
At this point in time I am thinking of going to TPG, $80 per month, unlimited and speeds of 88Mbps. Other providers seem to offer similar deals.
Is it worthwhile trying to negotiate a better deal with Telstra? Or is it a waste of time?
Otherwise I think that after all these years with Telstra we are moving to the "dark side" ;-)
Whilst I can't really comment on the plans our competitors offer, to get speeds of 88mbps you would be looking at our $90 unlimited plan with a $30 speed boost added, if this is available in your area. You can find further details here https://tel.st/vn5yq.
One of the benefits of going through us is that we would also provide you with a Telstra Smart Modem as part of the plan https://tel.st/rlw4c. You would want to factor in equipment costs and connection fees into any decision to switch. If you are looking to keep an existing fixed line number there may be a port out fee as well.
Having said that, if you do find a better offer through one of our competitors and decided you wanted to make the switch, please give us a call on 132200 and say 'retentions' and this team would be able to discuss if any further options were available to you on top of what I've been able to advise you of here.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
