Character Limit - Phishing Email Reporting

Answered
Hello Team,

Attempting to report a phishing email requests users provide full email content, including headers.

In this case; the text area seems to have a character limit of 3850. The headers alone of the mail item I’m trying to report blow out the limit, which is then truncated and becomes read only.

Overall; this makes reporting such emails impossible, or at very least; extremely frustrating.

Additionally; there was no clear avenue to report this kind of fault on the page. Given the nature of these portals; I highly recommend a quick report or feedback button.

As it goes; this phishing email will now go unreported... as I have no avenue to do so.

Accepting this post as the solution. Pretty confident this is not going to get any traction.

Thanks all for trying.

The best place to report phishing scams is scamwatch.gov.au

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Character Limit - Phishing Email Reporting

Whilst I appreciate your response; scamwatch isn’t the service I’m having issues with.

Hi dmblack,

Scamwatch is run by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). It provides information to consumers and small businesses about how to recognise, avoid and report scams.  I would highly recommend that you report this to them.

If the suspicious email claims to be from Telstra (or BigPond), we'd also like to know and you can submit a Misuse of Service form in regards to this. You can find out more about this on the following page: phishing-or-hoax-email-scams

Re: Character Limit - Phishing Email Reporting

Hey Kenobi,

Turns out my original report was far from clear. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I was posting from my mobile phone after having service difficulties resolving some services within CrowdSupport whilst connected to a VPN.

In this case; that very service you linked, from Telstra, is the service I'm reporting issues with. There is a character limit when attempting to post the phishing emails, as per the requirements set.
