Regarding prepaid sim activation

Hi there 

          How are you, well i currently i am on boost mobile prepaid plan but want to switch to telstra mobile therefore i bought a telstra prepaid sim from telstra shop northcote and i explained them that i want use my same mobile no. they provided me a sim that was assigned to other no. as i did not want to change my mobile no. i called to customer care they said you need to get a blank sim next day i went back to telstra shop explained them again and than they gave me a blank sim, later i tried to activate that sim but unfortunately that blank sim has only 12 digit serial no. which system does not pick please suggest me what can be done kind regards deepak
