BUSINESS LINE DIVERTING TO MOBILE

i HAVE ARRANGED FOR A DOT SYSTEM TO BE ACTIVIATED. I AM CONSIDERING THE BROADBAND BACKUP FACILITY WHICH IVE READ IF MY INTERNET GOES DOWN THE INTERNET WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE MOBILE BROADBAND CONNECTION. I WANT TO KNOW IF THE PHONE LINE GOES DOWN HOW DO I DIVERT THE BUSINESS PHONE CALLS TO MY MOBILE IF THE LINE IS DOWN. IN THE AREA I AM IN THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY THANKS

The Broadband Backup should kick in and control the Voice service also (see below):

 

DOT Extras information summary

 

"  Voice and Broadband back-up gives you a mobile broadband
device with 5GB of data each month to back up your fixed
broadband and Core Plan phone if your broadband connection
goes down, and is available for a minimum term of 24 months.
Any unused data expires each month and you can’t share this
data allowance with other services on your DOT account.
The Broadband back-up service can only be used for failover
purposes and not as a wireless broadband service. If it’s activated,
your fax and EFTPOS services won’t work. Data charges will apply
to all calls made and received, as well as and internet usage using
through the backup service. A 2 minute call uses 1.46MB data
plus the cost of the call.  "

 

There is also a standard feature with DOT called Call Forward Not Reachable or CFNR. CFNR kicks in automatically once a data service is lost. In the event of a service that has the back up it should go like this.

 

With back up

ADSL or NBN service is lost > Backup kicks in to keep the main business number active > Backup service fails (power outage) CFNR kicks in.

 

Without backup

ADSL or NBN service is lost > CFNR kicks in.
