Faulty metering with Wireless broadband

I have a home wireless broadband plan with 25GB of data per month and a netgear advance 111 device. We use only a laptop and an ipad 2 and have done so for at least 3 years.  Up until the past 3 weeks all has been good. However now when I am away from home and use the Foxtel Go app or the AFL Live app on the ipad I am being metered.  As I enjoy watching sport  most weekends even 25 GB gets chewed up quickly.  Has anything changed recently ??????
