Trying to find out my prepaid balance on my ipad

Having purchased a new IPad I cannot  open the Telstra App , it goes straight back to the home screen immediately. SIM card was replaced at Highpoint Telstra  on  Wednesday May 8th 2019. I wish to check my Pre paid balance which is a substantial amount. Cannot find where the tablet icon is in the new account set up

Firstly, reboot your iPad.

If that does not assist, uninstall the app

Reboot your iPad

then  Download a fresh app and install
