data charge on NRL ap.

The NRL app has charged me for data. I'm a Telsta customer , my subscription is active, why would this have occurred?

Thanks for your post and I am happy to assist you with your data usage. Video data usage is currently unmetered only for certain Telstra customers with respect to our supported devices. 

 

Video data usage is only unmetered for the following Telstra services:
BigPond ADSL/Cable/NBN
Telstra mobile handsets / tablets with any Telstra SIM (excluding International Roaming)

 

Telstra services excluded from unmetering:
Mobile Broadband (Dongles and mobile WiFi hotspots)
Telstra Business Broadband
BigPond Internet (Dial Up/ Satellite/ Hourly Plans)
Telstra Air

 

Note: When accessing premium content, a connection charge may apply while accessing the live content server. If the user is a heavy consumer this may cause a 1 cent charge over a month. This scenario seems rare in our testing.

 

Additionally, be sure to use either My Account or our 24x7 app to monitor usage as third party applications will not take into account unmetered data. 
 
If you think it is using your data, I'd recommend checking your APN is set to Telstra.Wap

 

If your APN is set to Telstra.Wap, the unmetered usage will be correct & won’t be what’s causing usage.
 

If you have checked these details and are still seeing data usage, please let me know how you are checking your usage and the amount of data used.

Hi my phone has a Telstra sim connects vis telstra wap. Phone is a Galaxy S 7 edge.

Thanks for getting back to us regarding your data issue.

 

Would you be able to let me know how much data has been used and how you are checking your usage.

 

In regards to unmetered content for Telstra customers : Only video data usage is unmetered. All other activity, including news, radio and other browsing in the App is counted towards your data allowance. In addition, downloading the App from the respective stores will count towards their data allowance.
