Have you tried turning off all devices, then turning them back on (waiting a minute or two between steps to let each device reboot fully), starting with the modem, then powerline adapter (if you have one), then finally the iQ box.
You may also need to go into the network settings of your iQ box and manually set the networking information (IP address, gateway, DNS server). I had to do that with my mother-in-law's one to get it to work properly.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
