Please help me with a foxtel setup issue

Hi,

I live in an apartment block have satellite foxtel and IQ2. I like the foxtel HD channels but watching channel 9,7,10 etc is so frustrating.

The picture is so blurry compared to the HD channels which I understand.

Now my problem is when I press the source button on my TV remote (6 month old Samsung LED) & go from where I watch foxtel to where my free to air channels are the channels are barely watchable. I just did autotune again but nothing changes.

We have a brand new aerial etc and my neighbours without foxtel have great quality FTA channels

Do I need to run a aerial cable from the foxtel to the TV? I presume there is already one from the wall to the foxtel box.

Is there any other way I can fix this? Do I have my cables arranged wrong? I would LOVE to watch the footy finals on HD live and also don't have access to 1HD etc

Please help me and forgive the newbie question

Thank you

Re: Please help me with a foxtel setup issue

Hey Natboy,

I appreciate your point however Free to Air Channels are a bit out of our control here and your Foxtel should not affect that.

So you will need to ensure that you have your aerial plugged directly into your TV and not via your Foxtel box. If you're still having trouble you may need to speak with an antenna specialist to check why your reception for free to air is below what it should be.

Re: Please help me with a foxtel setup issue

Thanks JesseS.
I don't think there is any problems with the free to air channels, just how the foxtel technician set my service up. I will try putting the antenna cable into the TV & see if that helps. I can get some channels so does that mean there is already an antenna connected there anyway? I don't really want to have to pay to get someone out when it was set up wrong by foxtel. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks a lot

Re: Please help me with a foxtel setup issue

I haven't heard of this issue before, in saying that depending on your state some free-to-air channels will come through Foxtel but others won't. If you connect your antenna directly to your TV you should receive all of them however just not through your Foxtel box.

Re: Please help me with a foxtel setup issue

Thanks for that. I get all of the channels but as I said I want the high definition channels as I find the basic channels run through foxtel to be of very poor quality. I will check the cables when I get home & see where they have them.
Thank you
