Can’t pair Sengled Element downlight with Telstra smart home hub

I am trying, unsuccessfully, to pair a Sengled Element downlight with my Telstra Smart Home Hub.

When I put the hub into pairing mode via the smart home app (in settings>my devices>add new devices>smart bulbs or smart plugs>Smart bulb) the Sengled bulb responds by flashing, but the smart hub remains in pairing mode and doesn’t move to the screen showing the Sengled bulb with a green tick to indicates successful pairing.

Eventually the bulb stops flashing with the app still indicating that the hub is still trying to find devices to pair with.

How can I resolve this? Anyone had the same issue? Thank you.

To my knowledge the Sengled downlight isnt compatible with Telstra Smart Home, only the Sengled bulbs sold through Telstra are compatible.
