ADSL Random disconnects

Answered

Been having random disconnects for months now and no amount of tech support has been able to identify and fix the true problem.   Happens more often during peak times, but can get disconnected pretty much anytime.

Have replaced central filters, double filtered phones, changed modems, performed isolation test, changed passwords.  Is there someone within the organisation who can look at these sorts of problems, maybe monitor the port at the exchange to try to isolate the root cause?

Re: ADSL Random disconnects

Can't provide a conclusive solution, but the Telstra tech visited the premises on Friday, replaced the central filter and most of the wire run to the modem, check all other connections and it's now all running fine.

Thankyou to Shelly for helping to get this fixed.

Re: ADSL Random disconnects

Hi Moldymeat,

There are many things that can cause disconnections on your ADSL service. I understand that you have a central filter, so I would firstly recommend disconnecting the additional filters from all of your telephone sockets.

If you try the modem on its own, with a standard length telephone cable (approx 1m) do you continue to have disconnections?

If you have done the above and continue to experience disconnections, you can send your details using the online I have sent you a private message so that you can send your details through for further investigation.

Re: ADSL Random disconnects

Hi Shelly,

Just confirming that yes, the double filtering has been removed.    Modem lead to the wall socket was changed.

 Your reference number is #121210-017858.

Thanks,

Graham
