ADSL2+ Speeds

Answered

I see there hasn't been a post on this for a few minutes, so to fill the awkward silence...

I have just upgraded to ADSL2+ (from ADSL) and the speeds have been downgraded Smiley Sad

Can anyone give me some hints based on these stats:

Using the Technicolor modem:

Re: ADSL2+ Speeds

Got on to our friends at Telstra who ran a loop-back test from the exchange and yes, there is some kind of fault between the exchange and the house.

Touch wood it'll be fixed in the next few days.

Thanks for the hint Dave.

Whoot!  The techo came out* and identified where the line fault was and after rewiring, it's tickety-boo.

Re: ADSL2+ Speeds

By my readings you may have a line fault. You should be around 9-10Mbs.

Have you done the usual isolation tests?

Cheers,
Dave

Re: ADSL2+ Speeds

Dave,

thanks for that.  And re 'isolation tests', if you mean unplugging everything (phones and all other devices), then yeah.  The modem and the laptop connected via wi-fi are the only things I run.

When you suggest line fault, is that in the house or something between me and the exchange?

cheers,

paul
