Ascend Y320 phone won't recognise the telstra network

Answered

It's unlocked from any network but only shows up on setting with Vodafone and Optus networks available

Re: Ascend Y320 phone won't recognise the telstra network

Optus and Vodafone use 900mhz where Telstra uses 850mhz

The phone may not be compatible with Telstra's network

I do notice the phone either comes in:
Network
UMTS 900/2100MHz or 850/1900/2100MHz

Does the phone have dual SIM slots? If so, try the other slot. If it doesn't it isn't going to work with a Telstra SIM

Re: Ascend Y320 phone won't recognise the telstra network

If it's showing the Optus network, then it won't work on the Telstra network as none of the versions of that phone have both the 850 & 900 MHz bands. They only have one or the other.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Ascend Y320 phone won't recognise the telstra network

Thank  you both Jupiter and Yastriande for your information, it was very  helpful. I was unaware there were replies till the weekend as nothing came through my email. I did try to  buy another Huawei but also was not showing Telstra network However he did forward me this link, but not sure how accurate it is as showing Huawei Y630 incompatible with  Telstra network yet there is that model on ebay with a boost sim.  Also having trouble using google chrome with crowd support as it kept saying entity too large
