I can't receive any regular http or port 80 traffic via my ADSL service at the moment (in victoria). Help! Is anyone else having this problem?
I think it started 18/3 in the evening, and it still isn't working. I spoke Telstra this evening, and was assured of a call back after they investigated further but have heard nothing.
I can ping and tracert websites and IP addresses, and can access any domain that has https enabled. Tried all three computers, and my phone via wifi, and it's still not working. Rebooted router, plugged notebook directly into router - no change.

You haven't done anything strange to your router configuration, like adding some port mapping etc?
Also, you haven't done anything strange like changing your INternet options on the browsers?

No, haven't changed any router settings, it's a stock standard setup. No port mappings/forwarding.

Nothing has changed in the browsers, settings are as they should be. No new software installed. And it's the same for any device that connects to the router - phones, tablets etc. The router is a TG587n v3
Your browsers (and/or Internet options at the operating system level) aren't configured to discover and/or use a web proxy, right?
I should mention this is in no way thanks to bigpond support. Was on the phone again for around half an hour today, they seemingly ignored me when I said I had called up yesterday and spent an hour troubleshooting on the phone, and proceeded to try to get me to go through the same steps again. When the first person couldn't fix it, they tried to transfer me to 'Bigpond Security', but instead I got the Cable section (I am on ADSL). This person was helpful, but they transferred me to another useless ADSL support person. While on the phone to them I thought I would do a hard reset, and it worked! I had thought of it earlier, but couldn't think why it would make a difference, as I have never changed any router settings except for the password.
Thank you! You just relieved 5 days of frustration with Telstra Bigpond technical (sic) support trying to get this resolved. If only I'd been able to browse http I would have found this sooner!
