Re: Constant fttn dropouts and 4g doesnt take over

From your log I can see that the DSL link is losing syn causing the internet drop outs.

"16.08.2019 20:26:41 VDSL Media down"

The DSL link losing sync beginning the cause of the dropouts is confirmed by the link stats which show 22 Downstream LOS errors for the day. It looks like there could be an intermittent fault on your FTTN link probably still have a faulty termination. Do you still only have a upload speed of only 1 Mbps?

The log also indicates that your 4G backup is not working. Which would explain why 4G backup is not working. If the 4G backup was working before it might have been blocked by Telstra due to excessive use. If this has occurred you can get Telstra support to submit a Web form to have the blocking removed.

Re: Constant fttn dropouts and 4g doesnt take over

A stability profile does slow the connection and rarely stops the drop outs completely, but they have to try a stability profile first. If drop outs still continue they should now send a tech to investigate.

Could you post your link error stats (Advanced > Diagnostics > xDSL)

There is an example below

Re: Constant fttn dropouts and 4g doesnt take over

Thanks I have just had it out with some poor online consultant. They have applied stability to my modem but no talk of the 4g issue. They can't tell me who is responsible for the fault, telstra or nbn or when it will be fixed.

Thankyou for your help.

I'm about done with telstra.

Re: Constant fttn dropouts and 4g doesnt take over

Should have known. They seem to have slowed my connection. Yet just dropped out. Again.

See ya later telstra.

Optus or anyone else here I come.
