I got called twice within a week from phone number (indicated by Caller ID, 0354320838). The called claimed he/she is from Telstra and I have issue with by broadband. Asked to turn on my computer to do something. When I ask him/her my Telstra account number, they can't tell and hangup. Is this caller ID really from Telstra? How would they know my broadband is with Telstra? Had anyone experienced similar bogus calls?

When I did get the calls I did as you said "ask them for your account number". In my case I just asked for the last 4 digits of it. Another reason why I also like my bills to be emailed to me rather than left in the letterbox for someone to pilfer and try and steal my identity.
