Is this a legit text message?

Answered

Hello

I just received the following txt message and was wondering if it was legit?

URGENT: Reconnect to your primary home broadband service immediately to avoid having your backup mobile connection restricted. Need Help? Contact us on 133 933.

I was using the backup connection last week during an outage, but normal service resumed on Thursday at which point I turned the telstra modem off and went back to my normal setup.

Cheers

Re: Is this a legit text message?

Was the Telstra modem working on the normal link before you turned it off? If you turned Telstra modem off while still on backup mode it will not have had a chance to send a signal that it was no longer on back up mode.

I had the same thing, NBN modem is offline, went to the chat and they have now organised a tech to come onsite after trying the usual power-cycle, confirm cabling, etc.

Thanks for the replies

I reconnected the modem yesterday and left it going for 20 minutes or so. The backup light was off so hopefully this has fixed everything. The backup function, whilst a little slow is a great feature
