My internet is still slowed to 256kbps after the monthly data reset. What's wrong?

On the 27th I recieved an email saying I was about to exceed my monthly broadband data allowance and the speed would be reduced to 256kbps, and on the 5th the monthly data would reset. It is now the 7th and my broadband is still at 256kbps, can anyone help me? I'm not sure what's wrong.

Hi,

 

Try and unplugging your modem power cable for 2 mins and plug it back in please.

 

Also check to see if your bills are up to date.
