My router page says just ADSL but im paying for ADSL 2+

I have contacted over awhile and they keep telling me I have ADSL 2+ AND I am paying for that but on the router says that I only have an ADSL connection type. Can somebody clarify because I feel as if I'm being ripped off.

P.S: The speeds are super slow so they dont seem to add up to an ADSL 2+ connection anyways.

ADSL and ADSL2+, like Cable, NBN and Velocity as well are all the same price.

What does your modem stats say? does it just say ADSL or does it have other letters?

Can you post your general stats including the dsl type?
on the Telstra Gateways it is http://10.0.0.138/ > advance > broadband

Re: My router page says just ADSL but im paying for ADSL 2+

ADSL_2plus = ADSL2+, so yes, you are on ADSL2+.

Based on the stats you have posted your max line speed is 6Mbps, so if your actual speed is 5-6Mpbs it would be pretty spot on.

The rest of the stats can help see if there is anything going wrong that could be having an impact on your speed but based on what you have posted you are certainly on ADSL2+.

Okay yeah I feel so silly right now but the thing that confused me was that it just said plain ADSL at the main router page so I had questions

Re: My router page says just ADSL but im paying for ADSL 2+

That is ok, that was why I asked what it had in there because that is the actual ADSL type, at a few other places it will just say ADSL but it means it in the collective sense for all ADSL technologies rather than specifically ADSL1.

Don't feel bad, if you don't see it in the right spot or the right way it is easy to read it the way you did. Smiley Happy
