My third-party VoIP no longer works

I have a Telstra Smart Modem providing my NBN Service. Connected to this in LAN mode is my FritzBox, which I am using for my VoIP service with a third-party VSP.

 

Until recently, everything was working fine. Since some weeks ago, though, the VoIP service will not connect. If I unplug the data connection to the FTTN service and the Smart Modem switches to 4G mode the VoIP connection reconnects as normal. When I plug in the FTTN, the VoIP connection is again lost.

 

Is Telstra blocking my connection or is there something else wrong with the service?

It might be Telstra  Broadband protect blocking the voip service. You can use a custim DNS to bypass Telstra Broadband protect. To set up a custom DNS log intk the modem, go to Advanced > Local  Network, select IPv4 DNS from drop down menu and save settings. Repeat for IPv6. For new DNS to be effective either reboot modem or disconnect and then reconnect Fritz box.
