NBN New Connection Stats

Answered

Just noticed we've apparently been switched over to NBN from ADSL.

How do these stats look?

Anything to be concerned about? Any suggestions?

Re: NBN New Connection Stats

If you are on the 50/20 speed tier (Standard Plus Evening Speed) they look Ok. Would have expected Line rate to be a few Mbps higher to allow for overheads (25/56), but there is nothing you can do that will effect the line rate apart from purchasing a speed boost to 100/40 (Premium Evening NBN). With speed boost line rate should increase to 90 Mbps down and 39 Mbps up

Are you having any problems?

Re: NBN New Connection Stats

There is no security or data usage risk with Telstra Air (as it creates a network separate to yours). It won't impact your service either as it limits itself to only use available bandwidth, so if you are doing something data intensive it will kick Telstra Air users off.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: NBN New Connection Stats

No working fine thus far and given we don't currently do anything on the net that would justify purchasing a speed boost it should be all good as long as it's reliable

Re: NBN New Connection Stats

One other change I've noticed is that Telstra Air is now ON.

I'm assuming this makes my modem some sort of hotspot for anyone with Telstra Air access on their phone?

Is there any security or data usage risk with this?
