As you have not fully explained your question, I will try to guess your concern.
You can have WiFi via NBN.
Regardless of the form of NBN, there are about 4 or 5 versions, the modem can provide WiFi.
To receive NBN in most of the metropolitan situations, you receive it by copper, HFC or Fibre.
(In some country areas, wireless).
You do need some form of cable entering your premises with the exception of fixed wireless.
The modem will provide internet, and also phone, only if you want phone.
I only have some sort of cable run to my shed which is about 20 metres from my home, trench was back filled before cable was run to house! So I signed into a new bundle and I believe it’s ADSL2+ so I’m still not sure what I need??

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.
Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
