NBN dropping out in storms

Hi... just wondering why at the first sign of storms my NBN drops out and hence lose my home phone connection as well. This has been happening for the last few months and something what the cause could be?

By what technology are you connected to NBN?
e.g. wireless, HFC, FTTN etc etc ??

From what I've just found out from the NBN site I have FTTN.

If you said rain, I would say a wet joint.
If your cable is an aerial lead in, in the air, it could be a fracture in the cable that faults when the wind blows.
