SMW3 cable problem / Routing

Once again SMW3 is down, but Vocus say that they have activated the new ASC early to provide cover.  HOWEVER Telstra routing is still going via east coast which was presumably set up when SMW3 first went down.  Can the routing be updated to use ASC so we get reasonable ping to HK again?  Currently getting around 230+ ping.

The ASC is basically a 100% vocus owned cable, Telstra has no partnership in it

Are you saying that Telstra services to/from Asia will not be routed across ASC?

According to Vocus message below SMW3 traffic has been re-routed across ASC:
Please be advised that Whilst SMW3 remains down, Vocus has completed an emergency change and begun routing traffic across ASC, connecting Australia and Singapore. This change ahead of the previously communicated ASC RFS date of the 14th of September has been made so as to immediately restore performance on our customer’s Australia to Asia traffic. These immediate performance improvements will be further bolstered once final preparations are completed to operationalise ASC for formal RFS on the 14th of September

Correct.

SEA-ME is joint owned by several telecommunications providers across the world, including Telstra and Vocus.

ASC is solely owned by Vocus after they brought the other company that had a stake in it

INDIGO, which is under construction and expected to be ready for service around the start of next year, is a jointly owned by Telstra, SingTel, Superloop, Google, Indosat Ooredoo and AARNET

Welcome to the real world @Eddoras... Telstra and AARNet are not going to pay Vocus for something they are building themselves... Why should they?

So my actual query was when will my ping to HK improve? If we are stuck with SMW3 until INDIGO, when will it be fixed and the routing corrected?

Currently its expected for the cable ship to be on station by the 22nd, with the issue repaired by the 26th
