gusperry, in addition to what Dan has mentioned, see if you can also run the My Online Toolkit which is a diagnostic software that will find any problems and issues you have with your ADSL broadband service.  It will do automatic repairs on basic issues, if not you'll be directed to the best team that could help you resolve your technical issues.  Let us know how you go.
