i just got my nbn 3 days ago and the speeds seem wrong to me
i am getting speeds of 13/34 over wifi and 9/30 over cable
yes my upload is higher
i have done all the trouble shooting and even called telstra
who informed me after 90 min that this is my speed for the next 2 months due to nbn not owning the lines
i ask why my upload would be so much higher than download and got no answer
i paid for the max speed
any thought on other possible fixes

Do you have a FTTN connection? Check your link speed by log into gateway.

DSL status is under advanced / gateway setting / dev info scroll down to xDSL or
advanced / broadband / DSL
If maximum download speed is low compared to upload check that gateway is directly plugged into phone line no splitter and there is nothing plugged into any spare phone sockets. It might also be caused by a central splitter not being removed

This is probably a CVC problem. If you do a speed test during non peak time you will probably find that that download speed has increased dramatically. There is not enough customer volume capacity between the NBN and Telstra's server. Most people use the Internet for downloading data that is why upload speed is greater than download speed.
If you have a FTTN connection you can check the speed your link is capable of by logging into gateway and checking the DSL status. If it less than what you are paying for I would stop paying for the speed boost.
i did a test at both times and my dload speed went to 13/34
i even tested it on my ipad and same results
and disconnected all other devices and still no change
after i did the telstra speed test the telstra tech person on phone basicly went quite and kept putimg me on hold and finally come back with there reason nbn doesnt own the lines and it will be 2 months
