intermittent authentication issues with mail.bigpond.com

Hi,

 

In the last week an email server i look after has started bouncing emails back intermittently, i use mail.bigpond.com as a SMTP relay due to the server being connected with bigpond internet.

 

A few times through out the day emails will bounce with the below error, then later on they will work, the server is set to retry 2 times with a 20 minute wait.

 

   Error Type: SMTP
   Remote server (61.9.189.249) issued an error.
   hMailServer sent: <Password removed>
   Remote server replied: 535 5.7.0 ...authentication rejected. Max Attempts

Has anyone else been experiencing this issue with mail.bigpond.com, or have any other suggestions as to why bigponds mail server would be rejecting my credientals randomly?

Just to confirm are you sending emails via the mail.bigpond.com mail server for a 3rd party email address or BigPond email?

Hi i cant send Emails, would anyone be able to help me set up my outgoing section of my email address please?
