Landline no engaged signal

Answered

Since the NBN has been connected, our line line phone does not give a "Busy signal" to incoming calls if you are already on the phone. People just hear the phone ringing and presume that you are not at home. Yet as we are talking we hear a 'Beeping" sound which indicates to us that someone is trying to make contact with our phone but will obviously only hear a phone ringing and hopefully ring back at a latter time.

How do we solve this issue?

Re: Landline no engaged signal

Pick up the handset, Dial #43# and hang up after the announcement to turn Call Waiting off.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
