To kill spam calls

The fix I suggest is this (Australia landline calls are free for Telstra users)
inactive numbers are
<https://www.acma.gov.au/Citizen/Phones/Numbers/Special-numbers/fictitious-numbers-for-radio-film-and...>
The ACMA has set aside a series of fictitious phone numbers for use in
radio, tv, and so on, just like the "555" numbers used on American TV.
These numbers will never be allocated to subscribers.

(02) 5550 xxxx and (02) 7010 xxxx
(03) 5550 xxxx and (03) 7010 xxxx
(07) 5550 xxxx and (07) 7010 xxxx
(08) 5550 xxxx and (08) 7010 xxxx
Tried 0270101111 as a test it answers instantly
"the number you have called is not connected"
so disconnects the other 200 (whatever) calls which ring out
They have also set aside mobile numbers, 1800 and 1300 numbers, and a 1900 number.

How to reclaim your Landline by doing this.
Tell neighbors, friends you do this

One needs a landline number that is inactive/disconnected for "Call
Forward Immediate" feature. So one can divert to a number that replies
"This number has been disconnected" or "not available" even a non-number "this number is incorrect"
Only need to do this when away from phone

Most calls from landline to Landlines are now free CHECK,

one will needs a landline number that is inactive/disconnected for "Call Forward Immediate" feature.

This gives a message "this phone is disconnected" These scammers call
20/100 (selectable) numbers at once , (they don't hang up on first call being answered)

The first to answer get the scam, the other 19 (or even 100) keep ringing out giving dead calls which are still a annoying nuisance, they don't hang up once a first has call been answered

Diverting to a inactive phone gets scam it answered first. The other 19/100 ring out (why you are getting many annoying "dead calls")

If scammer rings again without removing my number it stops their other calls progressing, as diversion will still answer immediately making other 200 not being answered.

Just use speed dial to connect to "call forward immediate"

To set-up Call Forward Immediate.
1. Lift your phone’s handset and wait for the dial tone.
2. Dial *21 (inactive number)
3. Key in the "inactive number" number you want your calls forwarded to.
4. Press # and hang up.
You can still make calls just not receive them

To remove Call Forward Immediate.
1. Lift your phone handset and wait for the dial tone.
2. Dial #21#
3. Hang up.
