Netgear nighthawk M2

Hi,

Just purchased this gadget as a failover for my ADSL. Telstra shop said it should work as that......

Anyway, I have a Billion BiPAC 8900AX-2400 that I'm trying to get the NightHawk to act as a 3G/4G/LTE fail over, but I cannot get the Billion to recognize it as such. It's plugged into the USB as was recommended, but alas, cannot be seen.

Can someone help?????

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Netgear nighthawk M2

In order to work in tethering mode, you need to plug the Nighthawk's USB C port in to the Billion's USB port.

The USB A port on the Nighthawk is for connecting Storage Devices or for charging smartphones. It doesn't provide internet connectivity.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Re: Netgear nighthawk M2

Thanks for the quick response..

Yes I have the cable going from the USB port on the router, to the USB C port on the Nighthawk (it also charges it as a bonus). I didn't have a USB to USB cable with me so never tested that side, but thought that wouldn't work as I had seen a diagram showing it pluged to the USB C port.

Cheers
