Reading messages

When I go to click onto a new message on my email from a new source instead of opening the messge it takes to that web site it was send from do I have to validate the new site and how do i do it

I might be a bit confused, can you provide a bit more information? How are viewing your emails? on an email client like Outlook? or via Webmail? Is this email address a BigPond one? Or another email provided (eg. Gmail)?
